Did you know that tattoos located farther from the heart tend to fade more slowly because there is less blood being circulated to the area? Good blood circulation is an important part of the fading process after having a tattoo removed. Here are a few tips to improving your circulation to help with post-removal healing.
We are often asked what can be done to help speed up the removal process in between each treatment. There are a few ways to help your system flush out the toxins quicker, which is especially important if your tatooo is located on an extremity such as an ankle, feet, or hand. These areas tend to have poor circulation, which can slow down the healing process.
Here are a few easy tips to help improve your body's circulation and cut down the healing time between treatments:
- Drink lots of water! The average person should drink approximately 2 liters of water each day.
- Increase your heart rate by exercising for at least 30 minutes every day. Exercise also helps to boost your immune system, which will help break down the toxins faster.
- Once your skin is visible healed after a treatment (usually about 3 days), massage the removal area with a lotion or ointment to promote blood flow to that specific area. This also helps to moisturize the skin and improve the overall condition so you are better prepared for your next treatment.
We recommend following these tips during the 6-week wait between treatments to help promote faster healing and healthier skin.
